Perpetual Diversified Real Return

Perpetual Diversified Real Return

WealthFocus

The Perpetual Diversified Real Return Fund invests across a range of strategies, regions and sectors. The Fund targets a pre-tax return of 5% per annum above inflation, before fees, over rolling five-year periods.

The Fund aims to achieve this return with lower levels of volatility than a traditional balanced fund. Diversifying the sources of risk to form a more efficient multi-asset portfolio and seeking to reduce the uncertainty of investment outcomes over the investment horizon and protect returns against inflation.

We apply a dynamic asset allocation approach to managing the Fund, which means that we are not constrained by fixed asset allocation ranges. Instead, we have the flexibility to actively shift the investment exposures to capture the best opportunities – wherever they are found.

October 28, 2024. We refer to the distributions posted on the Distribution History webpage between 15 August 2024 to 19 September 2024. During this period, the Distribution History for this product incorrectly displayed duplicates of the December 2023 distribution records for WealthFocus Perpetual Diversified Real Return for the 2024 Financial Year, and resulted in an inaccurate subtotal for the 2024 Financial Year. This has been rectified and the correct distribution history has been displayed on our website from 19 September 2024. The Distribution data summary included in this product page was not impacted.

Investment Approach

The Fund will invest in a diversified range of asset classes. The combination of assets held by the Fund at any time are those which we believe provide the greatest probability of achieving the target return over rolling five-year periods. Perpetual may adjust the Fund's asset allocation to respond to changing market conditions and/or to take advantage of new opportunities. In managing the Fund to meet its investment objective, the Fund may implement a considerable amount of its exposures via derivatives and may include alternative and private market assets. Currency is managed at the Fund level, taking into account currency exposure arising from underlying investments. Currency management is used to either hedge currency for an existing position or create an exposure to a foreign currency. Net foreign currency exposure will be limited to 50% of the gross asset value of the Fund. Investment in illiquid assets will be limited to 18% of the net asset value of the Fund.
